Question: Okay my boyfriend plays video games a lot and i want to understand them better.?

His favorite games are CoD4 Halo (I think all of the halos) and left 4 dead. He plays on xbox 360 live a lot and he wants to go to MLG so he is really into them. I just wanted to surprise him on like knowing more about them so can anyone give me the run down on these? Thank you!

Just ask to play with him, often there are multiplayer options on games like this. It's actually really fun, and though you might struggle a little at first, you'll get the hang of it eventually and then you'll have hours of fun. From my experience, guys LOVE when their girl wants to play vids with them... my BF and I spend a lot of our spare time gaming. It's very entertaining!

Cod 4 - They say war is hell. Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare takes you to the very depths of Hades. The long-awaited COD4, IW's follow-up to the excellent Call of Duty 2, is a jarring, intense, and gripping take on war in the new millennia. The enemies are smarter, the weapons are deadlier, and the grenades all too plentiful. COD4 will shake loose your fillings and have you begging for more. Infinity Ward was born out of the success of retelling some of the greatest battles in World War II. The company has become synonymous with the virtual beach at Normandy. So it was quite a gamble to break from the comfort zone of Nazi-occupied Europe and leap into present day. The gamble paid off. Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and every other military-based shooter has been put on notice. There is a new standard to judge this sub-genre and it is Call of Duty 4. Halo 3 - My father once told me, "Never start a fight you don't intend to finish. " Master Chief's pappy must have said something similar to him long before John-117 became a Spartan, because in Halo 3, the iconic action hero does indeed finish the fight. There is no cliffhanger ending that will have you screaming at your television, no doubting that this is Chief's tale and everyone else is along for the ride, and no question that it is a worthy conclusion to the most successful trilogy in videogame history. But just like that girl you dated in college, Halo 3 has some issues. Don't' worry; the good far outweighs the bad. This is Halo 3, and it is indeed the game you've been waiting for the past three years. When last we left Master Chief, he was headed towards Earth, determined to stop the Prophet of Truth and his cadre of Brutes from destroying the universe in a blaze of zealotry. Cortana had been captured by the Gravemind, a disgusting creature intimately tied to the Flood. The Arbiter and his Elites, once bitter enemies of humankind had made an uneasy truce in order to conquer a greater evil. Frankly, things didn't look so hot for Earth and its inhabitants. For three years fans have been waiting to find out what comes next. Most won't be disappointed, as the story eschews some of the ambiguity of Halo 2 and tells a more straightforward narrative. Events play out like a sci-fi action blockbuster. Left 4 Dead - Despite the love of Hollywood to turn games into movies, there doesn't seem to be a need for a movie based on Left 4 Dead, as it's already been made several times over. Left 4 Dead is a game that venerates zombie movies throughout the ages, from George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later. In the game, you and up to three other survivors must battle a zombie apocalypse with a simple goal; you aren't trying to eradicate the undead horde, you're just trying to survive. However, Left 4 Dead is also a completely different kind of game, and it feels as much of an experiment as it does an amazing gameplay experience. Valve has moved against convention and delivered a game that is built almost entirely around cooperative multiplayer action. Sure, there is a single-player mode that lets you play through the game with bots, but that feels like practice. Bots lack the dynamic play, the interaction and the interplay, and the social aspect of co-op play. This is a game that comes to life when you play with at least one other human player, and it's even better if there are four humans in each game.

There all first person shooters but there there all very differnet.... cod is modern warfare while halo is much more futuristic... and left 4 dead is just mindless killing of zombies.

I personally love video games, especially Halo and Half-Life. If you want to know more about the games, just two suggestions; 1. Play them and learn about them. 2. Read about them on the internet

...If your not a "game'r " you'll just always be number #2 in his life...

Sorry this isn't the most detailed answer but its a basic runthrough. CoD4 is a first person shooter game where two teams battle against each other in a war. Using guns ect blablah there are certain types of minigame that can be played. You can just kill people or takeover the other team. Halo is quite similar. You create armour, fight and bla bla bla, but its more medival and there are swords and things. Left 4 Dead is basically about abandoned buildings full of zombies and witches which you have to shoot and kill. Its pretty creepy to start with lol. Just a note that all of these games are multiplayer! Hope this helps a bit = ] x

Your best bet would be to go to en.wikipedia.org and search for them. There you would get a plot/ story outline as well as development history etc. I think it's great that you are taking an active role in your relationship and trying to find out more about your BF's hobbies...make sure he returns the favor!

Video Games have a required taste for both enjoyment pleasure and entertainment purposes. Many people who were never once into Gaming and actually OPPOSED to it became natural and hardcore enthuseists. Point being, if you are not into games you can still turn things around and discover you like them... but if not, you will NEVER enjoy or apprietate them. Using Video Games is an awesome way to connect but if you do not have enough interest to research these on your own and get into them to give them that kind of a real chance, I am affraid gaming isn't your thing. Try another hobby together = D

Well all of those games (with the exception of CoD4) have split screen co-op, ask him if you can play with him. And when he's not around, see if you can access them, or go to YouTube. Learn about the mechanics and comparisons to other games, grow your knowledge.

Forget it honey just go shopping.my hubby used to be into video games big when I was pregnant for our daughter. the running joke was that I would have to wait to have the baby until he was done playing his game.don't get me wrong they are fun but there is just so much you can take but then again he probably says that about shopping!

Well tons of male are into the gaming world starting at very early ages. I also play on xbox live and i have xbox friends who are from 10years old to friends who are married. If you really want to surprise him, buy him a new game. Buy him like Call of Duty: World at War or Reserve copys of Modern Warfare 2 & Left 4 Dead 2 at GameStop. Their release dates are in November. Also try to play with him sometimes. Like ask him to play Co-Op wich is Cooperative Campaign. GooD LuCk!= }

I love Left 4 Dead. Its kinda a short game tho. Its a zombie game and you have to shoot all the zombies. It gets intense at times. ha ha Sometimes when I was playing I felt like I was really there. I haven't played CoD4 so I don't know what thats about.
